Baxter Named to 2019 Dow Jones Sustainability Indices
As the DJSI World Index celebrates its 20th anniversary, Baxter is proud of recognition as a responsible corporate citizen every year since its inception

Baxter International Inc. (NYSE:BAX), a leading global medical products company, announced today it has again been named to the Dow Jones Sustainability Indices (DJSI)—the DJSI World and DJSI North America—designations Baxter has received annually since the indices were launched in 1999 and 2005, respectively. Demonstrating a continued focus on its sustainability efforts, Baxter scored in the top five percent of companies assessed within the health care equipment and supplies industry, with leading performance in environmental reporting, strategy to improve access to drugs or products, marketing practices and policy influence.

The DJSI Indices measure the performance of leading sustainability-driven companies on economic, environmental and social efforts, enabling investors to integrate sustainability considerations in their portfolios. In an ongoing effort towards greater transparency, the DJSI World was the first global index to track leading companies on their sustainability accomplishments based on RobecoSAM’s analysis of financially relevant Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) factors and the S&P Dow Jones Indices’ robust index methodology. In 2005, the DJSI North America was launched to track the performance of the region’s most sustainable companies; the top 20 percent of the largest 600 companies in the S&P Global BMI are selected.
